A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY: 1930s Dress

This silk 1930s dress for A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY required lots of patients and careful stitching especially for the 6 godets on the skirt! The original ground of the fabric was off white and the flowers were a slightly brighter green. I dipped the fabric teal which darkened the ground and deepened the tone of the flowers.

MARISOL: Wings

The Angel's wings for MARISOL are constructed from dyed muslin, rigilene boning, steel boning, flexible ethafoam rod, sheer fabrics and feathers. The shoulder pads of the harness have a Fosshape base covered with shoulder pads and then brown vinyl. The harness straps are the same brown vinyl backed with nylon web belting. To keep the wings from bending backwards I also added a few secretly placed plastic buckles.
