SHE KILLS MONSTERS: Rod Puppets

My budget was next to nothing for this production so I designed and built the puppets around found materials: plastic garbage bags, burlap and glue, scrap wood, and left over scenic paint.

PICNIC: Floral 1950's Dress

Cotton 1950's "picnic" dress with hand painted red and blue flowers.

BIG LOVE: Wedding Dress

Cowl back and cross front bodice with an enormous circle skirt, this dress was made as a wrap dress for easy on-stage dressing and undressing.

BENGAL TIGER: Robo Hand

Using an air-soft glove, silver paint and thread, we made a cheap and effective "robotic" hand. In the end this version was cut in favor of a sleeker design but still a valid option depending on the size of your house.

HAPPILY EVER: Baby Doll Dresses

Two versions of the same dress were needed for a quick change. The more distressed dress was dyed with RIT to match the colors of the set. The actress rolled around on the stage floor and needed to be "dirty" for her next entrance.
